Alex Cole is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Professor Ronald Buckanovich’s laboratory at the Magee-Women's Research Institute, Pittsburgh, PA. His current research investigates the role of the Nuclear Factor of Activated T-cells (NFAT) family members in promoting quiescence and chemoresistance in ovarian stem-like cancer cells. Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honors) from the University of Sydney, Australia. He received an Australian Post Graduate Award to undertake a PhD examining the role of p53 and histone H2B monoubiquitination in high-grade serous ovarian cancer. His PhD was awarded in 2018.
