Amanda Clark

Amanda Clark is a 2nd year Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Pathology.  Before working at Pitt, she completed her PhD in cancer therapy and immunology at Griffith University, Australia. Amanda currently works in the laboratory of Dr. Alan Wells where her research focus is based upon developing an all-human ex vivo hepatic microphysiological system (MPS) to investigate metastasis breast cancer behavior. The system is anticipated to provide an accessible tool to identify new therapeutic strategies for metastasis during initial seeding, dormancy and re-emergence, while concurrently evaluating agent efficacy for metastasis, metabolism and dose-limiting toxicity.

In her spare time, Amanda loves to hike and backpack and is a member of the Explorer’s Club of Pittsburgh. As a part of Yelp Elite, she also enjoys exploring the various culinary and cultural events that Pittsburgh has to offer.

Amanda is looking forward to a fruitful year as a part of the UPPDA board.
