Danny is currently completing his first year as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology in the Graduate School of Public Health. He received his PhD in the School of Social Work at Pitt (2015-2019) and has a Doctoral Certificate in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies from Pitt. Danny is originally from Central America and has always been passionate about advocating for the rights of students, particularly students of color, in higher education.

As Diversity and Inclusion Chair, Danny will coordinate events, and organize trainings and mentorship opportunities for all postdocs, especially for postdocs of color and those belonging to other marginalized groups.
