This month's speaker, Dr. Joseph Candiello, is a postdoctoral scholar in the Bioengineering Department in the Swanson School of Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Bioengineering here at Pitt. His current research focuses on studying the interaction between microenvironment cues and novel platforms, such as organoids, to better develop functional pancreatic endocrine cells. Dr. Candiello will be giving his talk titled “Engineering islet organoids: chemical, mechanical, and cellular considerations” on Wednesday, July 20th2016 in Room 123 BST.
