This month's speaker, Dr. Laura Morett, is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychiatry. She earned her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from University of California, Santa Cruz. Her current research focus is on the neural bases of communication in autism spectrum disorder, with a particular emphasis on the neural correlates of temporal synchrony between gesture and speech. Dr. Morett will be giving her talk titled When hands speak as loud as words: The impact of gesture on human communication and its disorders on Wednesday, January 20th2016 in Room 123 BST.
