This year, we are launching a new initiative called UPPDA Community Ambassadors!
Goal: To increase visbility within our membership, which includes every postdoc at Pitt!
Strategy: We’re planning more events and initiatives while we work to build a stronger, more connected postdoc community at Pitt.
But to be successful, we need your help!
To ensure we address the unique needs and perspectives of postdocs across all schools and departments, we’re seeking dedicated volunteers to serve as UPPDA Community Ambassadors. UPPDA Community Ambassadors are effectively the strings that tie us, the UPPDA Executive Board, to the smaller postdoc communities across Pitt.
As a UPPDA Community Ambassador, your main roles will be:
1) to promote UPPDA events and initiatives within your local postdoc community (i.e. your geographical location and/or your academic unit)
2) to bring the needs and concerns of your local community to the UPPDA EB so they can be addressed
3) to occasionally help us organize events within your local community
If you’d like to volunteer but don’t have the time to serve on a committee, consider serving as a UPPDA Community Ambassador and help to build the community our postdocs need!
