David Gau, PhD

Dave is a third-year postdoctoral scholar at the Department of Bioengineering. He obtained his BPhil/BS (2011) and PhD (2018) in Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh. His research focuses on the role of MRTF-dependent Pfn1 signaling in various mechanisms related to cell migration such as cancer metastasis and vasculogenesis. Prior to joining UPPDA, Dave was also involved in Student Government Board (undergradraduate; board member) and Graduate and Professional Student Government (graduate; president). For this board term, Dave aims to further develop the postdoctoral community at Pitt by increasing visability of UPPDA to the postdoctoral community, creating representation on University committees for postdocs, and increasing transparency of UPPDA board activities to postdocs.
