Postdoc Appreciation Week

The UPPDA organises a full week in September of treats and events focussed on enhancing the postdoctoral experience as part of the Annual celebration of National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) founded by the National Postdoc Association (NPA). This week offers the opportunity for postdocs to network and learn about resources available for postdoctoral career development! UPPDA Happy Hour

UPPDA hosts happy hours and other social events during the academic year to facilitate networking among Postdocs.

Fall Picnic

Each year, the UPPDA hosts a Fall Picnic, open to Pitt postdocs, their family, and their friends. Stay tuned for more information!

Outreach

Versatile PhD is a great resource for anyone looking to make a leap out of or into academia. They have a great website for exploring transitions to careers for both biomedical and non-biomed PhDs in STEM and other fields. As the University of Pittsburgh is affiliated, Postdocs and graduate students get full access to the website for free, and you can find the Pittsburgh chapter on Facebook here.
